MG Window Systems started in 1992 as a Windows manufacturing business.
The factory building that the company first started operating out of, is the same building the company still operates out of now in Rothersthorpe Avenue Industrial Estate in Northampton some 30 years ago !!
The company was originally set up by Mitch Brown and Gary Frost who used to work for NAC in Northampton. Gary dealt with the installation side and Mitch the manufacturing, a power team at the time with both men having a great personal reputation within the industry.
The company manufactured all their own windows when the choices were one profile moulding and White, Rosewood or Oak. This product was made by Marshall Tufflex.
In 2004 Marshall Tufflex stopped manufacturing the extrusion due to the increased colours and profiles, plus everybody was producing a higher security internally glazed product.
This almost pushed Gary and Mitch into making their own, but at the time they would have had to increase staff levels and buy a bigger factory. After trialling a few companies that produced products just for trade they settled on Glazerite and the Veka system which the relationship that is still going strong to this very day.
Because the manufacturing in MG had ceased Mitch took early retirement in 2007 leaving Gary running MG. Gary had lots of local contacts with well-respected local companies and after a very short trial period, Mark Russell joined MG in 2009 bringing with him carpentry and building experience into the company.
With the years of knowledge that Gary and Mark had between them, MG Windows now had a small building works arm to the business offering small extensions, and conservatories along with bigger Aluminium commercial projects.
MG Windows applied and became an Approved Trading Standards company (www.buywithconfidence) as well as being WHICH approved.
Alongside this MG Windows is also a member of the Independent Network Veka and a regular winner and finalist for customer satisfaction across the UK network with constant monthly reviews exceeding 95%.
Gary retired in 2018 and Mark’s wife Emma joined MG to build a new office team and to implement new systems and processes into the business. The fitters within MG all remained and the staffing levels grew some of the fitters have been with MG since the mid-1990s some longer than Mark!!
Matt Munns was one of Marks’s original carpentry apprentices in the early 2000s at the tender age of 16. Matt left the building trade in his late 20s to set up his own business in the property industry.
Mark and Matt stayed in touch over the years, they were having a coffee one day, and Mark was discussing his retirement plans as he wanted to spend more time with his family.
In February 2023, Matt carefully evaluated the option and ultimately made the choice to acquire the business.
Since the takeover, they have implemented new operating systems to benefit the staff and to be more efficient as a business. They are continuously working on offering quality windows with our amazing installation team and office staff.
Matt is looking forward to growing the business and continuing to offer the best customer experience for our customers for the next 30 years!!
